Multilingual Language Learner Support

Avon Maitland’s Multilingual Language Learner (MLL) Team supports young learners from Canada and countries around the world. The goal is to guide MLLs in their educational aspirations and to help them achieve academic proficiency in English. This foundational learning will contribute to their success in the Canadian education system and society.  

Multilingual Language Learner Model of Support

The Multilingual Language Learner programs follow an immersion model for educating MLLs; this means that all students are immediately immersed in regular, age-appropriate classrooms where their program is adapted to suit their individual linguistic and learning needs. MLL Support Teachers complete initial English language proficiency assessments with new students and support classroom teachers with programming for English language learners.
