Criteria for Inclusion on this Page
Materials for distribution must:
- Comply with all AMDSB policies and procedures. For full details about the distribution of materials from outside organizations, please see AP 116 (Distribution of Materials from Outside Organizations).
- Comply with the Ontario Human Rights Code (be respectful of all faiths, races and ethnic backgrounds).
- Be of educational or cultural benefit to students, support curriculum or extra-curricular activities for students.
- Be received electronically (submissions can be made to [email protected]).
- Be as accessible as possible to comply with AODA requirements.
Preference will be given to materials from non-profit, charitable organizations in Huron and Perth Counties.
Activities and Camps (Summer, PA Day) for Students
Relationships Presentation Youth Webinars - Facile Futures and Voices Perth are offering a free webinar series for teens aged 14-17 that focuses on building and understanding relationships. Each webinar includes a 30 minute presentation followed by a live Q&A. Topics include "Wait… How Do You Actually Make Friends?" (April 28 at 6:30 pm), "So You Like Them… Now What?" (May 5 at 6:30 pm), "No Pressure: Understanding Consent and Boundaries in Relationship" (May 12 at 6:30 pm), and "Keeping Safety In Mind: Playing It Safe While Making New Connections" (May 19 at 6:30 pm).
STEMpowered Conference (May 2, 2026) - This free conference at the University of Waterloo is for self-identifying Black youth in grades 10-12. Participants will engage in hands-on workshops, collaborate on a team design challenge, explore the university, and meet current engineering students and mentors.
Youth Trout Derby (May 9, 2026) - Visit the Falls Reserve Conservation Area on May 9th from 7-11 am for a fun-filled Youth Trout Derby! This event is open to children under 14 and registration is free. A valid day-use or camping pass is required for park entry. Adult supervision is required. Hot dogs will be available for $2 each.
Playmakers! Summer Theatre Camps - Ready for a summer of creativity, character building, and collaboration? Playmakers! offers week-long theatre programs for ages 6-16, focusing on the joy of storytelling in a supportive, high-energy environment. Whether your child is exploring musical theatre or building confidence through improvisation or digging into Shakespeare, these camps provide a space for every camper to find their voice through acting, singing, and dance. Camp Menesetung - Located in Goderich, this summer camp offers both day and overnight programs for youth ages 5 to 15 from July through late August. Each week features a unique theme, such as Sports Week or Beginners’ Week, and includes a variety of exciting activities like a climbing wall, a low ropes course, and water sports facilities. Campers receive three meals and three snacks each day.
Discovery Healthcare Camp - Open to students entering Grades 9–12, this camp is led by medical students from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University. Activities at this camp include casting and suturing workshops, first aid and emergency response training, and healthcare career exploration. The camp runs from July 13–17, 2026, at HPHA Stratford General Hospital. The cost is $325.99 + tax, with bursaries available to students based on financial need.
Belwood Lodge & Camp - This summer camp, located in Belwood, ON, is for youth aged 7+, adults and seniors with developmental disabilities. Both overnight and day camp options are available, with sessions running in July and August. Registration is now open for Summer 2026.

University of Waterloo's Women in Engineering Winter Events
NextStrat - A free after-school and weekend youth space is opening on the second floor of the Agriplex (353 McCarthy Rd, Stratford). Open weekdays from 3–9 PM and on weekends, this new space will feature a fully equipped esports lounge with 20 gaming PCs and Nintendo Switch consoles.

Colouring Contest - In honour of National Oral Health Month, the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association is hosting its annual Attack the Plaque kids’ colouring contest. Winners will receive a Toys R Us gift card and a kids’ oral health prize pack. The colour page can be downloaded here. The deadline to enter is May 1, 2026.
Youth Badminton (Free) - Drop in Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30PM at the Listowel District Secondary School. Ages 13-17.
Free Virtual Tutoring & Homework Help - Parents of Black Children is offering free 25-minute drop-in sessions inside the Omo Africentric Virtual Campus (“The O”), Monday–Thursday, 4:00–7:00 pm. (Mon & Wed: Grades K–12, all subjects and Tue & Thu: Grades K–8, all subjects). Supportive, affirming academic help for students in all subjects.
Online Tutoring - llluminEd Tutoring Inc. provides personalized, 100% online tutoring for elementary and secondary students, offering flexible support to accommodate busy family schedules.
Prom Suits & Tuxedos - Collins Clothiers is offering VIP Prom Nights, a private, after-hours suit shopping experience. It includes private after-hours appointments, pizza and refreshments, and personalized style and fitting support.
Healing Hearts Program: Finding Strength and Peace with Horses - R.G Wellness and Care helps kids feel better through spending time with gentle, friendly horses in a safe and supportive environment. Children learn calming activities while building confidence and making new friends. The program also offers respite care and rest, coping skills for anxiety, and trauma and PTSD support.

Family Events
Plant and Compost Sale (May 9, 2026) - Join the John Hindmarsh Environmental Trust Fund and The Maitland Trail Association for their annual Plant and Compost Sale, on May 9, 2026 from 10-1 pm at the Columbus Centre Parking lot (390 Parsons Court, Goderich). Browse a selection of plants, talk to experienced gardeners, and support local trails and conservation at the same time.
Bridging Hope Parent/Caregiver Group - This 6-week virtual support group is for parents navigating a youth’s substance use. This group provides a safe, supportive space to connect, learn, and feel understood. Sessions begin May 13, 2026, and run Wednesdays from 12:00–1:00 pm. Coffee with a Facilitator – Facile Futures is hosting casual online meet-and-greets for anyone interested in connecting with the Facile team, asking questions, and learning how you can work together to support your loved one and family. Sessions will take place on April 29 from 6:30–7:30 PM, May 6 from 12:00–1:00 PM, and May 20 from 6:30–7:30 PM. Registration is free. Register here.
10th Annual Brent Powell Memorial Concert (May 24, 2026) - Graham Bedard, Canadian Country-Rock artist, will be performing in Seaforth (59 Goderich St W, Seaforth) on May 24, from 7-9:00 pm. Entry is by donation, and proceeds go to Huron-Perth Child and Youth Mental Health initiatives.

Camp Menesetung Job Opportunities - Camp Menesetung in Goderich is hiring for a variety of positions to help lead camp activities, run programs, and ensure the safety and well-being of campers. Available positions include Leadership Coordinators, Inclusion Coordinators, Counsellors-in-Training, Lifeguards, and more. Future Veterinarian Bursaries - The Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) is offering three $1,000 bursaries for the 2025–26 school year. These bursaries support equity-deserving Ontario high school students—Indigenous students, persons with disabilities, members of visible minority groups, and/or immigrants—who show financial need and a passion for veterinary medicine. 2026 OHF Scholarship Program - The OHF Scholarship Program is open to students involved in organized hockey within Ontario who are planning to attend a Canadian post-secondary institution. Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievement, hockey involvement, community engagement, and personal reflection and leadership. To apply, applicants must submit a 500 word personal essay, provide one academic reference, one hockey reference, and provide a copy of their most recent school transcript. Deadline: May 8, 2026.
Summer Company & Entrepreneurship Opportunities -The Summer Company program is a Government of Ontario initiative that supports students aged 15–29 in starting and running their own summer business. Participants may receive up to $3,000 in funding, along with training, mentorship, and coaching from local business leaders. To be eligible, applicants must be 15-29 years old, be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and be returning to education the following year. Deadline: May 15, 2026.
Professional Engineers Ontario Chapter Scholarship Program - Professional Engineers Ontario is accepting applications for its Chapter Scholarship Program. This program awards 36 scholarships valued at $1500 to Grade 12 students entering a Post-Secondary Engineering program (accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board). Deadline: June 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
Employment Services at the West Perth Public Library - Visit the library on the last Thursday of the month from 1:00 - 4:30 pm to get resume writing assistance, support for retraining, career coaching, and more.
Ontario Register or Future Voters - Maintained by Elections Canada, the Ontario Register of Future Voters is designed for eligible 16 and 17 year olds so that they will automatically be added to the voters list when they turn 18.
